Americans love their vehicles. In Bucks County, most households have at least one. Even with many offices closed and businesses cutting back, many of us are behind the wheel every day. We’re so comfortable in vehicles we don’t appreciate the risks we take until an accident happens.

There were 125,267 traffic accidents in Pennsylvania in 2019, according to the state’s Department of Transportation (DOT).

Every crash comes at a cost. Even a simple fender bender could cost hundreds or thousands of dollars to repair. Injuries often require medical care. Accident victims may miss time from work because of their injuries. Someone killed in an accident no longer has a career and no longer supports a family.

What Should You Do If You Are in an Accident?

If you are injured in an accident, focus on your health and safety. The stress of the situation may numb you to possible injuries. Call 911 and ask for an ambulance if you are injured and feel that you should not drive.

Cooperate with the investigating police officer. Obtain the insurance information, as well as address and ID information for the other driver.  Write down as soon as possible anything that the other driver says that may be relevant to his or her liability. For instance, does the other driver admit fault?  Did the other driver appear intoxicated?  Did the police perform a field sobriety test at the scene? Get the names and contact information for any witnesses.  Contact your insurance company immediately.

Call our office as soon as you are able. It is important that relevant information be obtained as soon as possible so that your interests can be best protected. We will discuss your rights and your legal options and whether you may be entitled to recover compensation because of your injuries and/or property damages.  I will guide you through this stressful process.

Importantly, I do not get paid a fee for my services until and unless you receive compensation for your injuries and damages.
